54th Chicano Park Day, April 20, 2024 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
April 20 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
The Chicano Park Steering Committee is asking for assistance from SDNAHN at their annual Chicano Park Day Event
Saturday 4/20/2024 8:30am (set up) 9am to 4pm were the hours requested.
The request is to support the first aid tent with basic functions. They will provide the tent, chairs, water, Gatorade/pedialyte, as last year temperatures were very high and people working hard all day were fainting from dehydration and heat exhaustion. One person fainted and hurt his forehead resulting in a small gash. We should plan on bringing a basic first aid kit in case they don’t have one of their own.
Plan to get dropped off/picked up because parking is difficult due to the street closure. If you arrive early, it’s best to park on Harbor away from the actual event.
Suggested schedule:
8:30am-11:30 2 people
10:30-12:30 2 people
12:30-4:00 2 people
It’s not a busy tent, it is a huge and fun community event!
