HISTORY
The San Diego Association of Hispanic Nurses (SDNAHN) was organized inSan Diego on October 1993 by Tonie Brown, RN MA and several other dedicated women. Ms. Brown was the chapter's first president. Since its inception, this organization has grown in numbers with a diverse membership. It has been instrumental in supporting nursing students by awarding scholarships throughout the nurse career ladder. The purpose in the formation of SDNAHN is to provide Hispanic/Latino(a) nurses with the opportunity to network and address specific health and professional issues related to the Hispanic/Latino culture

SDNAHN is a branch of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses located in Washington, D.C. found in 1974 by Dr. Ildaura Murillo-Rohde, Dean Emeritus of State University of NewYork, Downstate, School of Nursing.
