Membership to SDNAHN is easy. You first download the application form. Please select the category that is most appropriate for you: student, associate, affiliate, active, international, and retired categories are available. Once you send in your application with the required fees, you will receive a membership card.  Please note the varied fee rates on the application and choose the one most appropriate to you.  If you are a nursing student, you must submit a copy of your student identification card in order to receive student discount rates.

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY:

You are eligibible to become a SDNAHN member if you are a:

  •  licensed nurse in the United States and its jurisdictions and of Hispanic ancestry (Full voting member).  
  •  retired licensed nurse of Hispanic ancestry who is at least sixty-two years of age and who is not employed full-time in the occupation of nursing (Retired voting member). 
  • licensed nurse who is not of Hispanic ancestry but is interested in helping to solve the problems and needs of the Hispanic community (Associate non-voting member)
  • non-nursing health care professional who is interested in helping to solve the problems and needs of the Hispanic (Affiliate non-voting member).
  • licensed Hispanic nurse not residing in the U.S. or its jurisdictions  (International Associate member entitled to all privileges, except those of making motions, of voting, and of holding office).
  • Hispanic nursing student enrolled in a program leading to nurse licensure (Student non-voting member).

¨       SDNAHN newsletter and NAHN journal that provides information related to the latest research on Latino healthcare issues, information on  professional events, opportunities for employment/education/scholarships, community, local chapter  & NAHN activities, and membership achievements/recognition.

¨       Networking among other Hispanic/Latino(a) nurses, health care providers, and business organizations for professional enhancement.

¨       Promotion of the Hispanic/Latino(a) professional image, leadership, in visibility through partnering and collaboration in health-related community activities.
